The Rainbow Valley
The Rainbow Valley has some of the most beautiful countryside you can come across in Australia. The Rainbow Valley is famous for Byron Bay and the ever so cultural Nimbin. But you can also trot up and down the coast and see dolphins playing in the water, visit Australia's most easterly point.
Byron Bay is famous for being small, but it can be wild, with backpackers and the affluent coming together to enjoy this hot spot of the Rainbow Valley.
We think Byron Bay is great. You can enjoy the beautiful beach in town, or head just a bit outside of the city and experience some of the most famous surfing beaches in Australia. This is sometimes better too, because they are not packed like the main beach can be.
A settlement started by a group of students in 1973, Nimbin is famous around Australia for being an experience of the hippy generation, with everything that is applied to that. Marijuana is sold here. And people are brought by the busload from Byron and surrounding areas to experience the...ahem'...culture of Nimbin. It is nice to see dear friends. We say it takes many colors to make a tapestry, but be careful, know what you are doing, and be safe.
