Brisbane is close to the Sunshine Coast, where you can visit the world-famous Australia Zoo or even take a little jaunt down to the Gold Coast where there are theme parks galore and warm, sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. Brisbane has that wonderful big city feel.
We suggest you take a walk in Brisbane's CBD and just take it all in. Experience the hustle and bustle, take a lunch at a cafe, and listen to the live street side music.
Every Sunday on Southbank, by the Brisbane River, you will gleefully find an exciting market.
People come to Brisbane from all around to sell items that they have made by hand. Even more, people from all over come to buy necklaces, masks, clothes, food, you name it, you can probably find it on Sundays at the markets in Brisbane.
While in Brisbane, take some time for yourself; head over to the Botanical Gardens. These gardens offer a quiet resting place where you can walk and just take in all through thoughts. You can sit by the river. Or maybe rest in the shade under a big tree's lumbering branches. We think the Botanical Gardens are beautiful and worth checking out if the you have time in Brisbane.
We like to go out on the town and have a good time. The night life of Brisbane's great, you can find just about anything you are looking for there, but we say you should head on down to what the locals call "The Valley" for a night out.
